This handbook is designed to help jobbing histopathologists jog their memory and get through more workload in any working day. Rapid access is facilitated by a bullet-point, tabular and diagrammatic style, as well as by handy anatomical diagrams, guidance on the ‘Cut-Up’ with emphasis on core ‘datasets’ and by a special index for frozen section advice, grading systems and scoring systems. The book provides, where useful, differential diagnosis lists and presents diagnostically helpful molecular and immunohistochemical findings. Information is kept up-to-date on a dedicated website www.pathbook.com.

The Diagnostic Criteria Handbook in Histopathology is not designed to be an “exam cram” and neither will it serve as a basic text for beginners. Trainees, however, will still benefit from the sheer breadth of topics covered in this one small volume: from lab management and lab methods, to autopsy practice, cytology and all sub-specialties in surgical pathology. A chapter on exam technique and mnemonics makes the book also an essential companion for those revising for professional exams.

So why clutter your precious desk space with multiple sets of heavy two-volume reference works?
Give this handy Vade Mecum a place next to your microscope and see how much time you could save!

Based on Lever's Histopathology of the Skin, Ninth Edition, this full-color atlas presents an algorithmic pattern recognition approach to differential diagnosis of skin diseases. Whereas Lever's classifies diseases by pathogenesis, this atlas aids in differential diagnosis of unknown cases by classifying diseases morphologically, based on their location in the skin and the patterns and cell types seen through the microscope. Within each morphologic category, prototypic disorders are described and illustrated with full-color photomicrographs, and a list of differential diagnostic possibilities is presented. The atlas contains over 1,300 full-color illustrations.

A bound-in image bank CD-ROM contains all the book's illustrations.

This book provides a practical approach for MR imaging of the focal and diffuse liver lesions. Its unique layout is based on state-of-the-art MR imaging sequences, computer-generated drawings, concise figure captions, relevant and systematic (differential) diagnostic information, recent literature references, and patient management possibilities. MR imaging findings are correlated to ultrasound, computed tomography, and pathology when appropriate. This book will greatly benefit all professionals interested and involved in imaging, diagnosis, and treatment of focal and diffuse liver lesions.

A succinct, single-authored text and atlas of bone marrow pathology, this book is based on over 10,000 bone marrow biopsies. Divided into seven sections, it covers indications and techniques for biopsy, normal findings, and bone marrow alterations in specific neoplastic and non-neoplastic disorders and other diseases. The author approaches the practical problems and pitfalls in making particular types of diagnoses. The volume is lavishly illustrated with over 300 full-color photographs. The emphasis has been placed on the histologic interpretation of the bone marrow core biopsy, but the histopathologic findings have been integrated with clinical and laboratory features, as well as with peripheral blood and bone marrow aspiration morphology.
Morphology is, in fact, accorded special attention in this book, since it remains the "gold standard" for many hematologic diagnoses and is the appropriate point of departure for more complex diagnostic investigations. More advanced immunologic and molecular techniques are not overlooked, however, and a discussion of these newer techniques is incorporated in the analysis throughout the text. Written as an introduction and guide to the interpretation of the bone marrow biopsy, this volume is intended primarily for pathologists and pathologists-in-training, but may also be used successfully by hematologists and oncologist who perform bone marrow biopsies.

The second edition of this atlas provides a detailed histopathological diagnosis of cervical disease emphasizing carcinogenesis, and correlating morphologic changes with clinical aspects. Instructions of how to obtain and handle tissue samples are followed by a description of the normal histology, of the action of steroid hormones on the cervix, and of the various forms of regeneration and inflammation. The section on etiology and pathogenesis of HPV-induced neoplasia has been enlarged to explain new insights into cellular and nuclear deregulation at the molecular level. A chapter on immunohistochemistry has been added which includes refined detection methods, e.g., with p16 for the early differential diagnosis of premalignant lesions. The latest advances in molecular biological research, with predictive subdivision of neoplasias, facilitate the choice of the proper therapy. All chapters – supported by over 20 new microphotographs – have been revised to include advances in the interpretation and management of cervical disease. The tumor nomenclature is adapted to the new WHO classification; the ICD-O code has been added. The reference list is updated with relevant publications.

After consultation with students and lecturers, changes have been introduced into the second edition of "Basic Histopathology". The second edition retains the same format, ie a text and atlas, illustrated throughout in full colour. The new layout is tailor-made for students' easy access to information, and more information is on offer than in the previous volume due to the addition of line drawings, flow charts and tables in each chapter. The expansion of the introductory text to each chapter in a "lecture note" style should also enhance the book's appeal to students. Pathological concepts are thus explained and then illustrated using high-quality colour photomicrographs. The entire book has been updated and changes made to the chapters on Amyloid, Lymphoreticular, Central Nervous system and Endocrine System. Systemic pathology is also given more in-depth coverage.
