Hydrogel cell culture
Hydrogel cell culture
Hydrogel is the three-dimensional synthetic gels that can be used in
cell culture to mimic the extracellular matrix for cell interactions studies. Bioengineers are moving steady forward in recapitulating endogenouse factors in tissue to make hydrogels with characteristics similar to that of live tissues. Some challenges remain for utilizing hydrogels such as heterogeneities in the three-dimensional culture, oxygen availability in the hydrogel culture environment, and technical difficulties in harvesting and analyze cells in the artificial 3-D
matrix.
