C.elegans Gene Knockout Protocol by TMP/UV Method

C.elegans Gene Knockout Protocol by TMP/UV Method

By Hitoshi Inada and Ikue Mori, Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology, Division of Biological Science, Graduate School of Science, Nagoya University.

The gene knockout is one of the useful approaches to analyze the gene function. In C. elegans, the construction of deletion mutant library using chemical reagents and the subsequent PCR screening are generally used to isolate knockout mutants because the gene knockout using homologous recombination has not yet been developed.
